The most exclusive dinner in Hanoi for Arsalan, Shannon and Avi, judged on how halal it is. Three picks, honest about what is and isn't halal.
The most exclusive table in Hanoi is a 14-seat Michelin-starred teppanyaki counter at Capella, five minutes from the Opera House. It's Japanese teppanyaki, which you love. It isn't halal, but the chef can grill seafood in front of you; ask for no sake or mirin.
I found no certified-halal fine-dining steakhouse in Hanoi. If halal meat matters more tonight than exclusivity, go to Dalcheeni (100% halal meat, grilled lamb chops). The hotel steakhouses serve wagyu, but none of it is halal.
The Kyori wagyu from Yaeyama is not halal, the griddle is shared, and sake pairings are part of the format. Workable: a seafood-only menu (lobster, abalone, sea urchin, fish flown in from Japan) cooked with no sake, mirin or alcohol. Ask them to clean the griddle first. A non-alcoholic menu exists.
Guides say the meat is 100% halal and the ingredients are "halal-certified". I couldn't find who certifies it, or whether it serves alcohol; ask both when you call. Order the Burrah lamb chops, Bhatti ka murgh, the tandoori dishes and naan.
Nothing halal is listed. They serve Hitachi wagyu and oak-smoked prime rib, none of it marked halal, plus a full bar. Ask: can they source halal beef tonight and cook it on a clean grill? Same-day is unlikely. Otherwise there's seafood (Patagonian toothfish).
Michelin Selected 2023–25, Bonvoy, steak and wine room. Not halal-listed. In the west of the city, the furthest away. Hours not checked.
Hanoi's other Michelin stars (2026). Vietnamese and Korean tasting menus; I didn't check them for halal. They're hard to adapt.
The grand old hotel. One guide says it has "halal options"; nothing specific confirmed.
A sky-high steakhouse at the InterContinental. No halal information.
100% halal Afghan and Pakistani food, charcoal karahi and kebabs. Great, but casual. Good for lunch tomorrow before the 15:00 flight.
£ at about VND 34,000 per £1 (approximate). Travel times are estimates from the Old Quarter.
"Chúng tôi là người Hồi giáo — không thịt lợn, không rượu trong món ăn."
"We are Muslim: no pork, no alcohol in the food." Show this on the phone if it helps.
